程兵在监狱里服刑时收集关于王二勇的信息，刑满出狱当天，就踏上了缉凶之路，他辗转了多个地方，各种职业都做过，摆夜摊、快递员、搬运工，最后到贵州做送水工，经过九个月的蹲守，程兵终于找到了王二勇，并想方设法把他弄进公安局，程兵代表三大队完成了使命。
