小时候池陆和爸爸妈妈在野炊，晚上的时候无意间发现程宏伟公司的人在残忍的捕杀人鱼，不巧的是他们的行踪被坏人发现。坏人不能让目击者活下去，于是池陆爸妈带着池陆逃跑，但是三个人逃跑很困难，爸妈选择牺牲自己的方式将池陆藏了起来。

躲过了坏人之后的池陆在海边散步，他遇到了人鱼，人鱼将人鱼链给了池陆，还将人鱼之泪放在了池陆的身上。人鱼这么做是希望池陆能够找到人鱼公主，从而拯救整个人鱼族。池陆虽然不是人鱼但是他也有很多奇怪的能力，这都和人鱼之泪有关。
