这部电视剧讲述的故事其实取材于现实中真实发生的事情，也就是2013年年底的广东“12·29”大规模剿毒行动，剧中的“毒窝”塔寨村也是根据现实中一夜之间缴获近3吨冰毒的广东汕尾陆丰甲西镇的博社村所塑造出来的，剧中展现出来的情境已经很让人触目惊心了，但现实中发生的事情远远要比剧情精彩很多，现实中这个村子一共有一万四千多人，他们都姓蔡，这一万多个人中除了一些老幼病残，其他的无一例外都在贩毒和制毒。

村子里的年轻人接受能力强，他们学会制作毒品后还拿去贿赂官员，以打开贩毒渠道，并为他们寻求庇护，而年纪大一点的人就在寻子里负责望风和打探消息，很难想象他们竟然没有人组织，就可以自发的形成一条完整的商业化产链，而且村子的防守更是固若金汤，想要从他们的嘴里套出点有用的消息简直是难于上青天。

They spent a lot of effort in eradicating this place completely, and at the same time paid a huge price.

The story told by this TV series is actually based on what actually happened in reality, that is, the "December 29" large-scale anti-drug operation in Guangdong at the end of 2013. It was created by Boshe Village, Jiaxi Town, Lufeng, Shanwei, Guangdong Province, where nearly 3 tons of methamphetamine were seized. There are more than 14,000 people in this village, all of whom are surnamed Cai. Except for some old, young, sick and disabled, all of them are engaged in drug trafficking and manufacturing.
